Alibaba's rookie network will build an intelligent logistics center at Hong Kong International Airport. (Star Island daily)
The addition of a logistics centre at Hongkong airport has made Hong Kong's air cargo centre more stable. The Alibaba's rookie network led the investment of twelve billion yuan to build an intelligent logistics center in the Road Bay of the southern cargo transportation area of Hong Kong International Airport. As a way of the distribution of freight facilities along the way, it will add another export choice for the exporters of Hong Kong and facilitate the consumer to buy goods via Taobao. Hong Kong's overall air transport capacity is expected to reach 7.4 million tonnes and the new facility will increase cargo handling capacity by 23 per cent. Logistics center project led by rookie, through its holding joint venture company development, partners for China Airlines Group and Yuantong Express. Rookie, AVIC and Yuantong hold fifty-one percent, thirty-five percent and fourteen percent stake in the joint venture respectively.

The center is expected to be put into use in two two or three, with a total floor area of three hundred and eighty thousand square meters, including air cargo handling center, sorting center and order implementation center. The centre will use advanced technologies, such as automated warehousing and temperature control solutions, to deal with thousands of packages each year. It is expected to bring about one million and seven hundred thousand tonnes of aeronautical cargo to Hong Kong International Airport each year when the center is fully operational with the highest design capacity.
